ABOUT PERFORMING HEARTS ATLANTA
Elissa Harbuck began her dance career as a child here in Atlanta, where she studied ballet, tap, acrobatics and jazz and danced competitively. In college, she was a varsity cheerleader at Auburn University, where she majored in Child Development. Elissa’s love for children and her passion for the performing arts led her to form the dance program at a local school, where she taught dance lessons to children ages 2 to 18 for eleven years. During those years, as she began responding to more and more requests from parents and students for individual coaching, she realized the rewarding experience of cultivating each child’s specific talents and dreams to achieve new levels of achievement and fulfillment. Elissa has had the honor of training students individually to perform in musicals at the Fox Theatre, concerts at the Marcus Institute, and to even appear in music videos. In 2015, Elissa began her endeavor as a competition dance instructor, with a firm belief that any student who possessed the desire and dedication could become an award winning dancer, regardless of prior experience. During the past 4 years as a competition dance instructor, Elissa has choreographed award winning numbers, and had the pleasure of seeing 40 young dancers become award winning champions.
